Buttonholes are Bitchin'!

I'm on the button band! I hope to make a button purchasing excursion tomorrow.

Does anyone out there like button bands? I know the Yarn Harlot hates them and Maggie Righetti has a chapter in her book called Buttonholes are Bastards, but I have to say, I quite enjoy them.

Of course, I also like picking up stitches, so that may put me into some category of knitting freaks, I don't know. . . .

I get a lot of satisfaction out of the "making something from nothing" aspect of it and, let me just say, the one-row method of making buttonholes in this current pattern is just so freakin' clever I can hardly stand it!

Time to bind off! Cross your fingers for a successful button hunt.

Eh, I'm sort of a take it or leave it sort of button band knitter, I guess. I don't hate them as much as some people seem to, and can admire the 'something from nothing' mentality you have. But I think it's sort of like trying to get to the toe decreases on a sock for a guy with enormous feet. By the time you get there you're just ready and impatient for the end to come.

Can't wait to see the buttons you find!

You know, I like buttonholes, too. There's a sense of extra accomplishment with them.

Or something.

yeah, I have to admit that picking up stitches is NOT my favorite part of the knitting process.
